  • Ask students to create visual representations of America or their own culture (or another culture)
  • Ask students how they imagine their community
  • Ask students what are the languages that they speak?
  • Ask students what does it mean to have MASTERY of a language and what does it allow you to have? What doors does it open? (standard English, standard Spanish, street Spanish, for example)
